Company History

The founder, Norman Raw, was born into a family of farriers and blacksmiths and learnt his trade from his father at the Forge in the North Yorkshire village of Whixley in the early 1940's.

In those early days the work centred on horses and farm implement renewal and repairs.

As farming changed and became more mechanised Norman moved with the times and started to fabricate and manufacture farm machinery.

In the 1970's the company became well known for its subsoilers, Dutch Harrows and cultivators.

In the 1980's the range was extended to include a range of loader and telehander attachments.

Norman's son Christopher joined the family business in 1974 and the size and scope of the company's business has grown to include a new factory / workshop premises and the employment of three staff.

Following the retirement of Norman, Christopher now manages the business from its premises in Whixley.
